TEE Simulator

Practical training in transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) traditionally depends on guidance from experienced physicians in a supervised clinical environment. Training opportunities are limited, and learning is often constrained by the discomfort and limited tolerance of awake patients. This app overcomes these challenges by allowing you to practice TEE at your own pace with a high-fidelity echocardiography simulator. The app features an intuitive interface modeled after a conventional TEE control module, providing a realistic experience of how probe manipulation and control settings affect the echocardiographic image. It automatically recognizes 28 standard TEE views and notifies you when each view has been acquired correctly. Interactive guidance helps you fine-tune the controls to obtain every standard view accurately, making it an effective tool for developing practical TEE skills anytime, anywhere. One of the greatest challenges in learning echocardiography is understanding the three-dimensional relationship between cardiac anatomy and the two-dimensional ultrasound images. To bridge this gap, the app provides optional real-time annotations of all cardiac chambers, major vessels, and valve leaflets in any user-selected imaging orientation, making spatial anatomy easier to understand. Best of all, the built-in self-assessment system allows you to continuously test your knowledge through short, engaging exercises. Your performance is automatically tracked over time, creating a personalized learning profile. The app identifies areas that require additional practice and adapts future assignments accordingly, helping you improve efficiently and systematically. Standard features: • Live labelling of cardiac chambers, great vessels and valve leaflets • Automatic recognition of 5 echocardiographic standard views • Goto function: provides interactive instructions to guide you to 5 standard views, starting from any position of the probe Premium features (in-app purchase): • Access to and automatic recognition of all 28 echocardiographic standard views defined by the ASE • Assistance mode: indicates which settings have been set correctly and which ones need to be adjusted (and how) for any selected view • Goto function for all 28 standard views • Self-assessment for all 28 standard view, allowing you to reach "Expert" level and higher DISCLAIMERS • This app does is NOT intended to provide any medical diagnoses or treatment advice whatsoever. Always seek a doctor’s advice in addition to using this app and before making any medical decisions. • This app is NOT able to perform a real ultrasound examination on a real patient, nor is it able to transform your device into a real ultrasound machine. • This app uses synthetic echo images based on an artificial human heart model, with live labelling to show what structures are displayed. The 'Live' function of this app makes the heart model move by means of digital animation technology. This function is intended for illustration purposes only, and does not reproduce a clinically realistic movement of the heart wall or any of the heart valves.
