Dont You Do It: Night Lock

Nothing good gets typed after 8pm. Not the message to your ex. Not the post. Not the basket you fill at midnight and pay full price for. Not the email to your boss that reads very differently at nine the next morning. Dont You Do It shuts the apps you picked in daylight, every night from 8pm to 8am. It does not hide them or grey them out. They do not open. WHEN YOU TRY ANYWAY A shield lands in front of the app, carrying a sentence you wrote about yourself while sober. From there you have three ways to go, and none of them is a button that says unlock. Put it in the vault. Write the whole thing. Hit send. Nobody receives anything, and you cannot read it back until 8am. In the morning you decide: destroy it, or write today's version and send that yourself. Deleting it is the app working. Answer the ten. Ten real questions about what you are doing and why, and they get harder the more you push. Finish them and the shield stands down for ten minutes. On iPhone that means everything you shielded, not just the app you came for, because Apple gives no way to open one. Five times a night, an hour between them. Or ring someone. One button, one person you chose in daylight, because the honest answer at 2am is usually a phone call and not an app. IN THE MORNING A plain account of the night. How many times you tried. What you wrote. What never went anywhere. And if your phone killed the shield at 3am, the report says so, with the minutes. That number makes us look bad some nights. It is in there anyway, because an app that lies to you about this is not worth having. WHAT IT COSTS Nothing. All of it, on iPhone, right now: the shield, the vault, the ten questions, the friend button, the morning report, and every app you want covered. Nothing is ever sold to you while the shield is up. No override, no emergency purchase, at any price. You pay for this in daylight or not at all. WEBSITES It blocks those too. You get a list built from what you chose to shield, and those sites go dark in every browser on the phone, Safari included. What it cannot do is shut Safari itself. Apple does not offer its own browser to apps like this one, so Safari with a site we have not listed stays open. We would rather say that here than have you find it at 2am. WHAT IT CANNOT DO Delete the app, or take Screen Time access away, and the shield stops. Apple gives no consumer app a way to prevent that, and anything claiming otherwise is describing something it cannot do. The morning report tells you it happened. It cannot stop a reply sent straight from a notification. Nothing running on a phone can see that happen. The app shows you how to switch those replies off. PRIVACY No account. No sign-up. No server. No analytics. What you write, who you picked and every number in the app sit on your phone and nowhere else. We could not read them if we wanted to. Apple never tells us which apps you chose. Screen Time hands us anonymous tokens, so the app shields something it cannot name. Every screen says "this app" rather than the app's name, and that is why. WHAT IT NEEDS, AND WHY Screen Time, so the apps you picked can be shielded. This is the whole mechanism, and it is the only way any app on iPhone can do this. Notifications, because the buttons on the shield are not allowed to open this app. They send you a notification instead, and that is how you get from a blocked app into the vault. The microphone, only if you record a note to yourself. It stays on the phone. No accessibility permissions. No VPN. Both are common in this category, and both would see far more than this app has any business seeing. Built in Estonia. 8pm to 8am, every night, until you say otherwise.
